Credit expenditure faster than it should be???

Well, for the recent past weeks, we have been receiving several complaints regarding this.

Most of the matter revolve in "their credit lost suddenly, or the internet eat-up excessively large amount of their credit although they simply YMing"

so, here's some basic troubleshooting..

HOW MUCH IS THE NORMAL CREDIT EXPENDITURE???

After running several tight-controlled, double-blinded test with a VERY VERY CLEAN, NON-INFECTED COMPUTER, here is our conclusion :-

"When you connect to the internet service, without browsing, IM, downloading, antivirus or windows updating, the total cost should be approximately 0.05 rubles (that is 50 kopek) per hour"

so, in order to make sure what is the problem with your computer, follow this step below

STEP 1 : RUN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST

Connect to the internet. Dont open any browser, IM services (YM or MSN), make sure you are not downloading torrent, and all the update service (WIndows and AntiVirus) had been switched off prior to connecting to the internet.

Disconnect after 10 minutes.

Check in your account balance at http://192.168.3.1/stat to see the statistic about your latest connection. It shall cost no more than 0.015 rub.

If it does cost SIGNIFICANTY MORE...go to next step

STEP 2 : DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS

Re-check everything.
a) Have u turned off the update service?
b) Are yiou sure your YM is not automatically logged on
c) Is there any torrent downloading at the background??

then re-run the 1st step above.
If it still cost more..go to next step

STEP 3 : Install AVAST anti virus
You can get the setup file from www.avast.com or from any of internet admin in hiroshima. If you download the file directly from www.avast.com, dont worry, we will reimburse the downloading cost.

Update the virus database.

Run the "boot-scan" function

Upon "boot-scanning" 75% of the computer we had checked will have an infection at
c:windows\sys32\wkcajox.dll (Win32:Adware-gen)

Order avast to repair/move to chest.

Run step1 again. If it still cost more..go to next step..

STEP 4: Install SPYBOT Search and Destroy
You can get the setup file fromwww.spybot.com or from any of internet admin in hiroshima. If you download the file directly from www.spybot.com, dont worry, we will reimburse the downloading cost. 

Update and run the scanning. This program will scan for any malware in your laptop

Common malware culprits are :

• AdRevolver
• BlueStreak
• BurstMedia
• CasaleMedia
• DoubleClick
• FastClick
• MediaPlex
• Messagemates
• NSIS Media Ext
• NSIS media VB
• StatCounter
• TrackDoubler

remove all the detected malware.

Run step 1 again. if ti still cost more, then, bring contact any of internet admin

In most cases, we will have to reformat your laptop. So please before bringing your laptop to us, it will be good if you already backup all your important data in Drive C into an external hard disk, or another partition.

2. enter your username and password

3. YOur balance and other data will be shown

TARIFF & Billing

Our Internet connection apply the pre-paid usage services. That is, all users have to top-up their account before they can use the service. The service will terminate itself when the amount in your account reach O.

The charge for Internet service consist mainly of this parts:-

1. 1st-time registration : 150 rubles (one time only)
2. ABONENTSKAYA PLATA (Monthly fee) : 100 rubles / month (This amount will be deducted automatically from your account. Note however it will not be charged if you didnt use the service for the whole respective month)
3. Your topup amount. Tariff : 1.35 rub/MB (browse & downloads), you can topup according to this schedule
